Graduation Ceremony
Graduation 2009
For the first time, the 2009 CHARLTON BROWN Graduation Ceremony was held at the Speakers Room, Parliament House in Brisbane City on December 8. The change in venue reflected the growth of our student cohort and the company’s presence in the community.
The evening involved the official presentation of certificates to our graduates, as well as a number of special student awards in recognition of outstanding achievements.
MC Rolf Moses, Director of People at Deacons, hosted the evening of celebration with guests speakers Rod Camm, Associate Director General, Skills Queensland and The Hon. Teresa Gambaro. Both speakers provided VIP’s, students and guests insight into the importance of Vocational Education and Training to Queensland, Australia, the world and most significantly, to the students themselves.
The night also involved a follow up from the 2008 event, a presentation of the first Endeavour VET Outward Mobility Anne McDonald Scholarship students volunteering at Sacred Heart Orphanage and Home for the Aged in Danang, Vietnam. The touching presentation brought tears to the eyes of many guests as they were taken through a visual journey of the students experience and the memory of Anne McDonald who the program is named after.
We would like to extend a special thanks to our regular graduation sponsors for lending their names to the night’s special awards. The award recipients were:
AHM International Student of the Year 2009
Falguni Patel
Travel Associates Student Award 2009
Bridgette Morel
StudyLink Outstanding Achievement Award 2009
Lauren Martin
We would also like to extend a special thanks to CHARLTON BROWN Nanny Kate Morrison for setting the mood on the piano during the welcome drinks and for her stirring rendition of “Imagine” during the Anne McDonald presentation.
Congratulations to all of our students who graduated in 2009! There were more than 770 students who were awarded qualifications by CHARLTON BROWN throughout the year and while not all could attend the night, the CHARLTON BROWN Team passes along best wishes and congratulations to all!
