Course Overview:

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will provide you with an in-depth understanding of children and how to engage with them in a group care environment.

This course is ideal if you want to become early childhood educators responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in Early Childhood Education and Care services. You will learn how to plan learning using appropriate frameworks, support child development, understand legislation and maintain a safe environment for children, families, and staff.

Practical Experience:

You will gain hands-on practical experience by undertaking a minimum of 120 hours of vocational placement in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.

Recognition of Prior Learning:

You will gain hands-on practical experience by undertaking a minimum of 240 hours of vocational placement in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.

The training package does not have any entry requirement, but CB’s specific course entry requirements are that:

All students are required to have a working with children check (Blue Card) prior to undertaking their work placement.

Requirements of Enrolment

  • Completion of at least Year 12 from an Australian secondary school or overseas equivalent, or
  • Proof of equivalent competency in core skills to a level appropriate for the course being applied for* and
  • Successful completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment
  • Working With Children Check and Police Clearance
  • IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (international students)
  • Minimum 18 years of age (international students)
