Course Overview:

The Community Services Industry in Australia is one of rapid growth. With current social trends such as an ageing population and updates to industry standards, there is an increasing demand for skilled community workers.

This course will benefit those who wish to work as a first contact in crisis situations, referring clients to a broad range of services, work in residential facilities under direct supervision, or who wish to work with children in a family home.

Practical Experience:

You will gain hands-on practical experience by undertaking a minimum of 120 hours of vocational placement in a Community Services setting. This course has an ideal balance of theory and practical learning to ensure your confidence when entering the workforce.

Requirements of Enrolment

  • Successful completion of a Police Clearance and Working with Children Check or Blue Card application.
  • Medical Certificate attesting to the student’s good health.
  • IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (international students).
  • Candidates need to have previous work experience in the community sector in a job role that involved:
    • The self-directed application of knowledge
    • The exercise of independent judgement and decision-making
    • The application of relevant technical and other skills.
